At the heart of Ancient Path Ministries beats a core team that makes the mission possible — the Field Guides. These seasoned men are the backbone of the brotherhood: fathers, mentors, and brothers who choose to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with others on life-changing adventures in God’s creation. Field Guides are more than trip leaders. They are culture-shapers and legacy-builders, living out the Ancient Path mission in their everyday lives — in their workplaces, neighborhoods, churches, and circles of influence.

A Field Guide is a spiritual father who duplicates spiritual fathering in others as he walks through life. He forms men through presence. He guides hand-over-hand. He embodies the Path before him and shapes culture wherever he goes.

In God’s Creation:
Creating space in the woods, on the water, along the trail, and wherever men gather, where hope and expectancy are restored—where a man learns to listen for God’s whisper, respond in obedience, and discover that the true harvest is intimacy with Him and with each other.

In Community:
Cultivating intentional brotherhood marked by humility, unity, and refining fire—protecting the environment, strengthening one another as iron sharpens iron, and forming men who walk in intimacy with God and each other.

Hand-over-Hand:
Walking closely enough to father scripturally, entrust, correct without shame, and release—guiding men through lived experience so what is formed in them can be faithfully duplicated in others.

Hand Work to Minister to the Heart:
Using shared pursuit—hunt, cast, hike, table, fire—as sacred ground where patience, restraint, courage, and discernment are shaped, and where skill becomes the bridge to heart transformation and spiritual fathering.

Kingdom Initiative:
Training and releasing Field Guides as spiritual fathers who embody the Path God has placed in them and multiply it—raising men who carry intimacy with God, strengthened brotherhood, and obedient leadership into homes, churches, workplaces, and the wider Kingdom—not merely staffing Ancient Path events.

Field Guide Training is a 4-day intensive.

Do not think “another leadership event.” This is a 100% immersive environment. From the moment it begins, you are not sitting back observing—you are stepping in. You will lead during the intensive. You will practice in real time. You will be entrusted with responsibility while being coached hand-over-hand.

This is live formation.

You will learn practical skills—think Man School—while being spiritually fathered. You will experience what it feels like to be guided without shame, corrected with clarity, entrusted with real responsibility, and released with confidence. The environment is intentional, refining, and brotherhood-driven.

The intensive is designed so that what happens in you can then be duplicated through you in your own area of influence—your home, workplace, church, community, and relationships.

Field Guide Training clarifies calling, but it also helps you walk in your God-given glory.

As Gary Barkalow defines glory, it is the weightiness of who you are—the unique impact your life makes when you are fully aligned with how God designed you. It is the particular way you bear His image. This intensive helps you name that, strengthen that, and step into it with courage.

The goal is not performance.
    It is alignment.
It is not platform.
    It is fatherhood.
It is not recruitment.
    It is release into the Kingdom through duplication.
